Easter long weekend – egg-cellent adventures
Easter Egg Hunt with a View at Diggies Kiama 🥚🐰🥚
The team at Diggies Kiama has a program of Easter weekend activities for young and old. Good Friday, book ahead to enjoy a sustainable seafood feast, bring the kids along on Saturday, at 10am for the Diggies Giant Egg hunt and stick around because between 2 – 4pm Mark Crotti will be playing live music to see out your afternoon.
Grab your Chocolate eggs at Jamberoo Action Park 🐰🥚🐰
Jamberoo Action Park not only provides NSW’s best water fun park, but from 10 – 11am on Easter Sunday see if you can find the Easter Bunny and Sammy the Shark who will be showering the kids with chocolate eggs. Wipe the chocolate off your face before you grab your insta-ready selfie or catch up with Shaunicus the Magician (maybe ask him for some help to win the Easter Hamper Guessing Competition!?).
Get active these autumn holidays
Earn your own easter eggs by expending some energy or get your kids active with their chocolate-fuelled energy by tackling an Easter adventure. Here are just a few ideas for your Easter holidays:
Kiama Coast Walk
The magnificent Kiama Coast Walk spans around 20kms from Minnamurra Station (north of Kiama) to Gerringong in the south and is appropriate for most levels of fitness. You can divide the walk into three shorter segments, with some parts allowing even the youngest scooter adventurer to get their kicks on and cruise along the shores. A stop at the Big Blowhole but also the lesser-known Little Blowhole are a must and gives you a chance to see but also feel the power of nature (and both have cafes nearby!).
Bring your glutes in shape while taking in unique scenery
Exploring new surroundings on a (e-)bike is a thrilling experience. If you’re seeking a family adventure during these Easter school holidays, the Gerringong to Gerroa shared track stunning views of picturesque rolling mountains and incredible vistas of Seven Mile Beach is a great option – but remember, it’s called shared for a reason!

Ready for a literal ‘beach break’?
If you’re looking to acquire a new skill, school holidays present an ideal opportunity. Why not try booking a lesson with one of the two surf camps and schools situated in Gerroa? These lessons are appropriate for individuals of various ages and provide an excellent chance for families to participate in a wholesome activity together. Find a new outlet for your creativity
For those crafty people, we have you covered, take a visit to the Bead Shack in Gerringong where you can create jewellery or whatever your heart desires. During the school holidays, the Shack offers one-hour lessons for children twice daily.
If you don’t mind a bit of mess, Soul Clay Pottery Studio that allows you to get right into the muddy clay experience. Join the Soul Clay Kid’s program these holidays (also accepting Creative Kids vouchers), with options for handbuilding, wheelthrowing, macrame wall hanging or driftwood art… WOW!
Or get down and dirty with Expressive Art Experiences as they present holidays fun of all art persuasions.
Kiama and Gerringong Library workshops
Kiama Library and Gerringong Libraries present a huge program these holidays with sewing and twining workshops, DIY jellyfish friendship bracelets, cooking classes, LEGO challenges, stone pendant workshop, enjoy a moonrise cinema, learn how to make your own stop-motion animation movie and so much more!

Explore the scenic landscape of the Kiama region
Illawarra Fly Tree Top
Experience a breathtaking aerial perspective of the lush rainforest at Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures, just a 25-minute drive away from Kiama. You can opt for the Zipline Tour, which involves groups zooming from one platform to another over 30 meters above the ground, providing stunning views of the Illawarra Ranges. Alternatively, choose the 1.5-kilometer Treetop Walk, which includes 500 meters of elevated steel walkways through the tree canopy and is suitable for all ages – an excellent opportunity to ignite your children’s interest in nature.
Minnamurra Rainforest
Traditional weaving workshop at the Minnamurra Rainforest Centre offered by a knowledgeable senior Aboriginal NPWS guide. Suitable for 10+ years and bookings are essential.
For something a little different
Get up and personal with our offshore wildlife
How about changing up your perspective with an Eco Scenic Cruise? Get on a boat with Shellharbour Wild and learn about the variety of marine life the Kiama coast has to offer this autumn season. The 2-hour cruise starts at Shellharbour Marina heading down south for you to explore Five Islands, Bushrangers Bay and the Kiama Blowhole. Tickets ate available from the Kiama Visitor Information Centre.
Bunny hop to the Illawarra Light Railway Museum in Albion Park
Ride the Bunny Hop Express (until 2pm) for a Fun Easter Sunday at the Illawarra Light Rail Museum. A huge family day out is planned, featuring their steam train, mini train, visits from the Easter Bunny, Alice in Wonderland & friends in costume and giveaways! Get in early to save a picnic table and let the kids roam on the playgrounds and the fenced area. This Sunday 9 April from 9am – 3pm.
