Area Gerringong
Gerringong is the quintessential holiday spot, famous for its chilled vibes all year round – where a sunrise surf or dip in one of the local rock pools remains one of the best ways to welcome a new day.
There is a golf course in close proximity, great fishing and glorious wine. Be sure to sample a local drop at one of the wineries and breweries, or browse through the array of shops along the main street.
Don’t miss one of the best picnic spots around at Boat Harbour Reserve, where you can go for a dip in the rock pool or take a stroll along with the rock platform.
Check out Werri Beach, distinguishable by its point breaks at the north and south ends. Smooth even when the summer nor’easter is blowing, the north point starts to break across the rocky reef that extends from the headland, then generates a fatter wave closer to shore adored by long-boarders.
At the northern end of Werri Beach, you can set out on the Kiama Coast Walk (just be sure the lagoon isn’t open to the sea). It’s a great way to spend the day, and even better during whale watching season.
Village Markets are held on the third Saturday of every month, with local produce, craft and food stalls.
