This hilltop village 10 minutes south of Kiama overlooks a great swathe of blue ocean promising long days of surfing, swimming and sunshine. Gerringing is the epitome of a cool, laid back surf town offering easy beach-side holiday experiences.
There are several golf courses in close proximity, great fishing and glorious wine. Be sure to sample those at Crooked River Winery and browse through the Gerringong Heritage Museum.
Don’t miss one of the best picnic spots around at Boat Harbour Reserve, where you can take a stroll along the rock platform.
Check out Werri Beach, distinguishable by its point breaks at the north and south ends. Smooth even when the summer nor’easter is blowing, the north point starts to break across the rocky reef that extends from the headland, then generates a fatter wave closer to shore adored by long-boarders.
Village Markets are held on the third Saturday of every month, with local produce, craft and food stalls.
