School holidays are back! Are you feeling overwhelmed by the thought of keeping your kids entertained for two whole weeks? Here is a curated list of the best activities and experiences in Kiama for kids and families. From fun adventures to educational explorations, there’s something for everyone.
1. Jamberoo Action Park
If your kids crave excitement, Jamberoo Action Park is a must! With adrenaline-pumping rides like the new editions: the Stinger and the Octo Racer, Kids will love racing down the slides and cooling off in the wave pools. It’s the perfect full-day family adventure! Bring your picnic rug and enjoy a BBQ (coin-operated), or hire an exclusive ‘Velocity Cabana’.

- Ages: All ages. All children 13 years and under must be accompanied by a guest 16 years+ NB: Guests over 1.4m will be eligible to use all rides, little ones under 1.2m can ride the bobsled with an adult and enjoy Banjo’s Billabong, Kiddies Cove and Billabong Beach.
- Bring: Swimmers, sunscreen/zink, thongs (footwear is required for the bobsled), towels, picnic food (cafes are also available). Optional: wetsuit, googles, water shoes

2. Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures
For budding explorers, Illawarra Fly offers the chance to become a Rainforest Ranger! Kids can uncover the hidden secrets of the rainforest while navigating the stunning Treetop Walk and Knights Tower. It’s an interactive journey where they’ll discover fascinating facts about local wildlife.

3. Superhero Scavenge for Convoy
If your kids are superhero-mad, they’ll love the Superhero Scavenge for Convoy 2024 event. Dress up as your favourite superhero and join the hunt for the missing gear of The Avengers and Justice League! Plus, you’ll meet iconic characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Deadpool, and Wonder Woman. In partnership with Tiny Tins & Wollongong Crane Trucks, this event raises money for the I98 Illawarra Convoy.

4. Paint a Skateboard Workshop

5. School Holiday Bee Workshop
For something truly unique, enroll the little ones in Burnetts on Barney for a bee-keeping experience like no other! Kids will learn about the importance of bees, their life cycles, and how they make honey—plus, they’ll visit a live beehive and taste fresh honey!

6. Minnamurra Rainforest
Breathe in the fresh air and immerse your family in nature at Minnamurra Rainforest. This walk is filled with native wildlife, breathtaking waterfalls, and lush greenery. The boardwalks make it super easy for little people to make their way around and there’s nothing like the great outdoors to let them release some pent-up energy. The Loop Walk is also very do-able with a pram or wheelchair.

7. Gerroa Surf Camp
For the young wave-riders in your life, Gerroa Surf Camp is the place to be. Kids can learn everything from paddling to standing up and essential ocean safety tips. Surf Camp is a guaranteed hit whether they’re beginners or looking to improve their skills. Boards and wetsuits included.

How about a holi-CLAY? Designed for aspiring artists, this one-and-a-half-hour pottery wheelthrowing session at Soul Clay Studio is perfect. Participants will receive tuition on the pottery wheel, use of tools, clay, and even have two items bisque and glaze fired. This is a fantastic opportunity for teens to create functional pieces of art!
