While there is no shortage of beauty in the townships of the area, there is something magical about venturing just a little further afield. No matter in which direction you head, you’re sure to find a pretty place to watch the world go by.

Saddleback Mountain

Taking in the best of both coast and country, even the drive to this lookout is a journey all of its own. Follow the winding roads through dairy country, past the historic dry stone walls all the way to the top of the mountain. Feel the air change as you step onto the lookout, with views stretching further than the eye can see.

Sir Charles Kingsford Smith Memorial & Seven Mile Beach National Park

It’s easy to see why this stretch of sand was deemed the perfect launch pad for the inaugural aerial crossing of the ditch. Plan your path to explore the smooth sand, gently rolling waves and seaside national parklands, all with a bird’s eye view.

Mt Pleasant Lookout

After the twists and turns of the Kiama Bends, this little cove provides the perfect introduction to Gerringong and the south. Take in the township and its magnificent coastline, all while marvelling at the way the mountains really do meet the sea.

Feeling a little adventurous? These are the lookouts for you. Whichever way you wander through the undergrowth of the escarpment, you’re sure to emerge somewhere with a stunning vista. From Cooks Nose Walking Track to Jamberoo Lookout you’re bound to be impressed.

Whale Watching

May to November is the ideal time to spot whales as they make their way past our stunning stretch of coastline. Check out the land-based whale watching platforms in Minnamurra and Gerringong. Vantage points such as these provide a perfect place to spend an hour.
