Where the sea makes a noise

Formed millions of years ago, Kiama’s iconic blowholes (x2!) are among the largest in the world – blasting out from ancient volcanic rock to thrill onlookers of all ages. 

In fact, Kiama is quite literally defined by these geological wonders – with the town’s name translated from the original indigenous language as “where the sea makes a noise”. And when the sea is just right, that world-famous “whoooosh” is certainly something to behold.
