What’s your story?

Throughout the month of November, Kiama and Gerringong Libraries are celebrating National Novel Writing Month with a series of workshops designed to inspire and motivate your writing journey.

This interactive workshop with fiction author Emma Darragh is designed to kickstart your creativity, whether you’re stuck on a current project or putting pen to paper for the first time.

By completing a series of timed writing exercises, you’ll discover new ideas and experiment with language, voice, and form. You’ll take inspiration from your own life as well as from external stimuli, with writing exercises to support your learning.

Emma Darragh writing has appeared in numerous Australian publications, and her debut novel, Thanks for Having Me, won the 2024 Readings New Australian Fiction Prize and was shortlisted for the Matt Richell Award for New Writer of the Year. Emma has a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Wollongong where she has worked as an academic since 2019. She also works as a mentor with WestWords and the South Coast Writers Centre.
