Building Research Skills and Exploring Local History

Royal Australian Historical Society president Carol Liston and senior vice president Christine Yeats will share life-long insights on how best to explore the past. Hosted by Kiama Historical Society, this event will appeal to local historians, researchers, family historians and writers across the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.

The workshop will focus on building practical skills, improving research methods, and developing confidence in working with historical sources. Sessions will explore searching Trove more effectively, navigating the Historical Land Records Viewer to research people and properties, and working with colonial records to gain insights into personal and family life.
