Kiama Council is heading to Jamberoo this Australia Day (Sunday, 26 January) to celebrate our national day.

Council will be holding a formal Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony (10am – 11:30am) at Jamberoo Youth Hall.

Starting at 10am, the ceremony will see Mayor Cameron McDonald welcome and celebrate our latest group of fellow Australian citizens.

This will be followed by a community barbecue and picnic next door at Reid Park, at 11:30am.

This event is supporting Jamberoo Red Cross and Jamberoo Rural Fire Service.

Australia Day in Jamberoo (from 11:30am – 2:30pm) will feature:

  • Cultural performances
  • Barbeque
  • Gelato bar
  • Local musicians
  • Family friendly games such as circus play & large yard games
  • Face painting

So, grab your camp chair, picnic blanket or rug and join us.

If you can’t make it to Jamberoo, there are also Australia Day barbecues at Jones Beach (Kiama Downs Surf Club) and Werri Beach (Gerringong Surf Club).

Kiama Downs – Australia Day celebrations are at Kiama Downs Surf Life Saving Club with a barbeque and activities (7am – 12pm).

Gerringong –  There’s an Australia Day barbeque in front of Gerringong Bowling Club, at Werri Beach (7am – 11am).
