What to expect
Culture comes alive in the heart of Kiama
Hindmarsh Park comes alive for Kiama Culture Fest with live dance, music, hands-on activities, family-friendly fun and flavours from across our community.
From Brazilian drumming and Bollywood dance to lion dancing, henna, African drumming and plenty to get involved in, there'll be something happening throughout the park from 11am to 5pm.

Explore mosaic-inspired pattern and design in a creative activity drawing on traditions found across the Mediterranean and West Asia, including Greek, Turkish and Persian art.

Try your hand at traditional Turkish tile painting and create your own colourful design inspired by this distinctive decorative art form.
Traditional Shell Art with Marrawanggan
Join Marrawanggan (Mermaid) for a hands-on Djal (Shell) Art Workshop celebrating culture, creativity and connection to Gadhu (Saltwater) Country. Create your own djal bana box while learning about the cultural significance of shellwork to Yuin and Dharawal Miigay-Miigay Gadhu (Saltwater Women).

Yes. Entry is free, with plenty of free entertainment and activities throughout the day.
Yes. Culture Fest is designed for all ages, with plenty for kids and families to see and do throughout Hindmarsh Park.

The Orry Kelly Stage program will be Auslan interpreted, with Uniting joining Culture Fest as our Accessibility Partner.
No booking is needed to attend Kiama Culture Fest, simply come along and enjoy the festival. Most activities are free and drop-in, however a small number of workshops and experiences have limited places and require bookings. Check the Workshops & Creative Experiences section above to book your spot.
Hindmarsh Park is in central Kiama and within easy walking distance of Kiama Station, the town centre and surrounding parking.
There will be a shuttle bus running from Kiama Leisure Centre to Kiama Leagues Club between 10am–5pm. The last shuttle bus will leave Kiama Leagues Club at 4:40pm.
Yes. Professional photography and videography, including content for social media, will be captured throughout Kiama Culture Fest.
Council’s official photographer will be identifiable by a labelled high-visibility vest.
By attending the event, you acknowledge that photos and video footage captured on the day may be used by Kiama Municipal Council and Destination Kiama for promotional purposes.
If you have any concerns about being photographed or filmed, please speak to event staff on the day.
The main festival in Hindmarsh Park runs from 11am–5pm. Afterwards, catch a belly dancing show at Saltwater Café Kiama from 5pm or a Global DJ at By The Sea from 5pm–7pm.
