Kiama Visitor Information Centre
The perfect starting point for your Kiama adventure, the Visitor Information Centre offers expert local knowledge, maps, and guides to help you make the most of your trip. Stop by for a warm welcome and insider tips on the best attractions and hidden gems. Open daily from 9am to 5pm (closed on Christmas Day).
Kiama Blowhole
One of Kiama’s most iconic natural wonders, the Blowhole puts on a spectacular show as waves burst through the rocky crevice, sending water high into the air. It’s best viewed on a windy day with a strong sea swell!
Pilot's Cottage
Step back in time at the Pilot’s Cottage Museum, which showcases Kiama’s rich maritime history. The Pilot’s Cottage Museum is open Saturday and Sunday 11.00am to 3.00pm and is run and operated by the Kiama Historical Society.
Bonaira Native Gardens
Bonaira Native Gardens is a serene park filled with native flora and winding walking paths. It’s a perfect spot for a peaceful stroll or a picnic surrounded by nature.
Little Blowhole
Smaller but equally mesmerising, the Little Blowhole offers a more intimate display of nature’s power, spouting water through its narrow rocky channel. Depending on the day, it may even be blowing bigger than Kiama Blowhole.
Ocean Pools
The area boasts four beautiful ocean pools including the Kiama Rock Pool near Blowhole Point, the Continental Rock Pool by Black Beach, the Gerringong Rock Pool near Werri Beach, and the Boat Harbour Rock Pool in Gerringong. They offer year-round access and stunning coastal views.
Historic Terrace Houses
Dating back to the 1880s, these beautifully preserved terraces now house boutique shops, cafes, and even a dog wash. Open daily, with individual business hours varying, it’s a great spot for shopping or a coffee.
Kiama Leisure Centre
Whether you’re looking to stay active or relax, Kiama Leisure Centre has something for everyone. Open Monday to Friday, 6am–8pm, and Saturday to Sunday, 8am–6pm. The centre includes a heated indoor pool, gym, and sports facilities. Entry fees apply.
Spring Creek Wetland & Bird Hide
A haven for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts, Spring Creek Wetland is home to a diverse range of bird species and native plants. The bird hide offers a peaceful spot to observe wildlife in their natural habitat.
Lookouts
From Saddleback Mountain and Mt Pleasant to the Kingsford Smith Memorial, Kiama’s lookouts showcase stunning coastal views. Adventurous trails like Cooks Nose and Jamberoo Lookout offer equally breathtaking panoramas.
Bombo Headland
This dramatic headland features striking basalt columns formed by ancient volcanic activity. A favourite spot for geologists, photographers, and walkers, Bombo offers a unique landscape to explore on foot.
Boneyard
A hidden coastal gem, Boneyard is a sheltered cove ideal for snorkeling, swimming, and relaxing. Its calm waters make it a favourite among locals and visitors.
Cathedral Rocks
Cathedral Rocks is a stunning volcanic rock formation that juts into the ocean, perfect for photographers and nature enthusiasts alike. This iconic landmark can be viewed up close from Jones Beach or admired during the Kiama Coast Walk.
Minnamurra River
The Minnamurra River offers calm waters ideal for kayaking, paddleboarding, or a refreshing swim, surrounded by lush mangroves. Its scenic walking paths and picnic spots make it a popular destination for families and nature lovers.
Golf Courses
There are three golf courses in the Kiama LGA, all as beautiful as the next. Gerringong Golf Club boasts spectacular ocean views from every hole, Jamberoo Golf Club and Kiama Golf Club combine natural beauty with well-maintained greens, catering to players of all skill levels.
Minnamurra Rainforest Centre
Immerse yourself in nature as you wander the elevated Loop Walk (1.6km) or challenge yourself with the stunning Falls Walk (2.6km). Keep an eye out for lyrebirds, whipbirds, water dragons, and ancient fig trees, then relax at the visitor centre, retail shop, or picnic area.
Carrington Falls
Marvel at the dramatic 50-metre plunge of Carrington Falls into the lush Kangaroo Valley below. Explore nearby walking tracks, swim in crystal-clear rock pools, or enjoy a barbecue at the picnic facilities.
Jamberoo Pub & Johnny Warren Museum
Jamberoo Pub, dating back to the 19th century, exudes country charm and is a favourite for hearty meals and live music. The Warren Museum showcases fascinating local memorabilia and stories from the region’s rich history.
Jamberoo Action Park
Dive into fun at NSW’s favourite water-based theme park! With thrilling rides and attractions for all ages, it’s open from September to April, 10am–5pm. Check the website for specific dates and plan your adventure.
Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk
