Destination Events Funding

As part of our Tourism and Events Strategy, Destination Kiama is keen to hear from and work with Destination Events.

Destination Events are those events that attract people to our area, from outside our area. These are events that are located in the Kiama Local Government Area (LGA), attracting significant attendees/participants and that are keen to promote our destination.

Destination Event organisers are invited and encouraged to contact our Event Coordinators with any questions or queries, whether that be in relation to checking the events calendar for date availability, discussing event promotion, packaging, ideas and/or partnerships at or on 02 4232 0444.

Please note, applications from Destination Events are now required to be submitted at least six (6) months in advance of the event start date. Our Event Coordinators are available to discuss funding criteria, key dates, the application process or any other questions that may arise.

The upcoming closing dates for submissions are as follows:

  • Round 1: COB, Friday 22 January
  • Round 2: COB, Monday 29 March
  • Round 3: COB, Friday 16 July
  • Round 4: COB, Friday 1 October

Applications for Destination Event funding are considered by the Destination Kiama Tourism Advisory Committee, who then make recommendations to the full Council meeting. Please note that this process can take up to six (6) weeks.
