All Welcome. WATER is a group exhibition by all the Resident Artists at Fern Street Gallery, celebrating everything water contributes to life. You will be taken on a journey into the joy, necessity and life-affirming aspects of water, interpreted by each artist in their own unique way. It can be easy to take water for granted, it flows on demand from our taps, our gardens and crops flourish with the help of the rain and we enjoy all things water-sport and leisure in our coastal living. With this exhibition, we take the opportunity to show our gratitude for this life-giving and preserving substance that we wouldn’t exist without. Enjoy a select and varied interpretation of the theme of WATER through painting, mixed media, photography and printmaking. The exhibition is open daily 16th April to 5th May, including every day over Easter. The exhibition is furthermore extended to feature during the Surf Life & Music Festival in Gerringong 3rd-4th May 2019 at Gerringong Town Hall – only a skip and a jump from Fern Street Gallery. 10am-5pm Monday-Friday 10am-4pm Saturday-SundayLearn More

Pics and Flicks March movie is ‘Breath’ Summary: Simon Baker’s directorial debut is poetic without being pretentious, capturing the natural beauty of the WA coast and the complexity of coming of age The natural beauty of the film’s coastal, Western Australian settings provides scope for symbolic interpretation. But like Winton’s novel, the film is unpretentiously profound, with a very Australian (and very cinematic) regard for allowing natural beauty to speak for itself. It is the rarest kind of sports movie, in that it will encourage in participants a different, thoroughly thoughtful perspective with which to view their pastime.
