Kiama's dog-friendly community will get great tips, advice and enjoy a fun day with the pooches they love at Kiama Council's second free Dogs' Day out.The event will be staged from 10am-2.30pm on Saturday 28 May 2016 at Black Beach, Kiama.Dogs of all shapes and sizes and their owners are welcome.Activities include: a dog agility demonstrationdemonstrations of fly ballpresentation by canine behaviour specialist Steve Austinfree giveawaysjumping castle and face-paintingproduct demonstrations including grooming and naughty dog school discounted dog servicesexhibitors showcasing the latest and greatest pet products, grooming salon, dog-washing services and naughty dog schools.opportunity to get expert advice from vets and Kiama Council rangersAs well as to share a love of animals, Council Rangers said the day was designed to reinforce key messages of responsible pet ownership.Among the issues canvassed will be NSW seat belt laws around travelling with pets and general information about heatstroke and companion animals.Rangers will be on hand to answer any questions about changes to the NSW Companion Animals Act 1998.LEADING THE WAYThe Dogs' Day Out will also feature a fun Dress Up your Dog Lead Competition. Colour it, bling it, camouflage it for the chance to win some great prizes. Kiama Council has six grassed areas and three beach areas (from sunrise to sunset). Kiama Picnic Train

The Kiama Picnic train is coming to Kiama on Sunday 29th May, and will be having a Charity Run from Kiama to Shellharbour and return. We will be raising much needed funds towards the rehabilitation costs for local surfer, Brett Connellan, who was tragically attacked by a shark at Bombo Beach on the 30th March 2016.Tickets are $15 per person, and children under 5 years are free. Tickets can be purchased at the Kiama Visitors Information Centre, Blowhole Point Road, Kiama. The train leaves Kiama Station at 12.50pm. The train will travel to Shellharbour Junction for a short stop and will then return to Kiama. Please be at Kiama Station at 12.30pm to Board the train.The Kiama Picnic Train is equipped with a Buffet Car where light meals/snacks and beverages can be purchased. Passengers are also welcome to bring their own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. The train is licensed, so alcoholic beverages can only be purchased on board. Passengers are able to walk through the train to the Buffet Car. Please call 4232 3322 for further information.
