Following the highly successful Lloyd Rees Festival in 2013, the next exciting Lloyd Rees project in Kiama/Gerringong is the restoration of paintings by his architectural students in 1962.These were just recently discovered a little worse for wear after a chance comment by Alan Rees, he recalled that his father had been commissioned to organise a mural for the then new assembly hall at Kiama High School.Along with the restored paintings, there will also be a series of storyboards with all the historical documents that have been found that relate to the original project, including copies of letters for Lloyd Rees and some the the architects. There are also press clippings from the time.There is an appeal for funds to bring these wonderful legacy works back to life for locals and visitors alike to enjoy.Funds are being used for the restoration and re-framing of the artworks which will be displayed at this exhibition.
