DJ Mark Crissy has played extensively both at home and abroad. He DJ’d in London at the Jewel Bar Piccadilly Circus and Sunday Soul Sessions in East London as well as in Brazil at Sunday Sessions São Paulo, hosted by Roger Weekes (former DJ with Jamiroquai and Soul to Soul). Back home he started a group called Novasoul, doing Sunday sessions with live musicians and live art in Maroubra's Mr Big Stuff Cafe . He has also been a regular at the Play Bar Surry Hills for the 'Brasilian Journey' sessions over the past two years. His main influences are funk,soul, latin and anything else with a groove that keeps his blood flowing and a kick in his step.Learn More

Opening on International Women’s Day, Thursday March 8, the Little Blowhole ART BAR presents STRONG WOMEN.The Strong Women exhibition runs from 8 March to 1 AprilThe Art Bar is OPEN Wednesday & Thurday 5-9pm | Friday & Saturday 12-3pm & 5-10pm | Sunday 12-6pm Earlier this year, Bruce Ferguson and Jamie Cole creators of the Art Bar in Kiama, asked photographers and artists from the local area to submit up to two photo portraits of a strong woman in their life, family or community that to them embodied strength, resilience, fortitude and compassion. Inspired by the burgeoning social media campaign Project Strong Women (PSW) founded by Shauna Ryan, a millennial visionary, international blog curator, and emotional thought leader. Strong Women hopes to build on Shauna’s aspiration to curate an encouraging and empathetic space in which people can share their stories while connecting through like interests and heart led endeavours. Photographers and artists participating in the project include Matus Bardiovsky, Tanya Wallis, Peter Izzard, Phil Winterton, Robyn Sharp, Jon Harris, Lea Tucker, Diana Thomas, Daniel ONeill, Arja Valimaki, Melissa Ritchie, and the Art Bar’s very own Jamie Cole and Bruce Ferguson. All artworks will be for sale at the exhibition, with 50% of the proceeds being donated to SAHSSI, a specialist domestic violence and homelessness service for women and children in the Illawarra/Shoalhaven District.
