School Holidays Summertime Fun @ Early Start Discovery Space

Head to the Early Start Discovery Space these holidays and you’ll find loads of summertime fun. During the four weeks of January they have free exhibitions, amazing shows and a series of hands-on workshops. All this on top of a huge range of daily activities.

Explore the world of dinosaurs and fossils with the Australian Museum’s Fascinating Fossils exhibition. Hear incredible facts about Australian dinosaurs and take part in dinosaur games.

The team from Shellharbour City Library will be here to help you get creative and messy as you create your own tiny gardens for some fairy friends.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No – it’s you! Join in Superhero Me! and make your own superhero costume to take home.

Sea creatures
Get up close and personal with an exciting range of live sea animals with Rangers on the Run and their large touch pool! Talk to the experts about animals and learn how to reduce our impact on the marine environment.

Floaty Boats
See who can make the biggest floating boat. First you get to build your own boat out of household materials and see how well it floats. Then remake it, so it’s bigger and better.

Amazing science
Join the team from Science Space to witness a truly ‘cool’ and sometimes explosive liquid nitrogen show.

Circus play
Honora, the circus artist extraordinaire, is visiting to teach us basic circus skills and make our circus space come alive.

Puppet shows
Enjoy the Letter Island and Quest to Save Teddy Bear Garden Puppet Shows.

Take a guided adventure through the beautiful University of Wollongong campus searching for colourful birds, big and small!

Visit their events page to find out more about these activities and to book a workshop.
