Ken Tucker's 'For the Benefit of Mr K' Exhibition

Details

One of Kiama’s most celebrated and awarded artist’s Ken Tucker is showing at the Art Bar throughout September. In his first solo show, Ken has drawn inspiration from one his favourite bands, The Beatles. Why the Beatles? Many times over the years Ken has produced work based on music. He says it's in his DNA! Ken recently read an article about John Lennon and how he came to write the lyrics for the Beatles song “For the Benefit of Mr Kite”, from their seminal album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” He found the story fascinating, the deeper meaning of the lyrics stimulating abstract thoughts and visuals in his brain, a clear theme of this classic psychedelic album.

"Sometimes I just paint for fun." Ken says. Fittingly, Ken has entitled the exhibition "For the Benefit of Mr K" and it will hang from 4-29 September.

This is one exhibition you don't want to miss! Opening with a 'Beatles party' on Thursday 5 September at 5.30pm. All Welcome. Beatles attire encouraged!
