Many members will be familiar with the long-running TV program "Coast" and its energetic presenter Neil Oliver. On 29 July 2016 KDHS member Malcolm Bedford was involved in the production of an episode which featured the history and geology of the Bombo quarry. Malcolm spent a whole day with the production team and had a lot of contact with them prior to the filming day. Given Malcolm's particular interests in quarrying he had a significant off-screen involvement in the making of the episode and met Neil Oliver over a three hour period. A number of artefacts from the Pilots Cottage Museum featured in the episode. This episode was shown on Foxtel in 2017, and more recently on SBS. Even if you happened to see this episode you will be sure to find Malcolm's behind-the-scenes observations to be very interesting. Malcolm will illustrate his talk with segments from the episode. This will be a rather different and certainly very interesting presentation.Learn More
