The Kiama Farmers' Market runs every Wednesday. Please note that the times vary 3-6pm in summer (October to April) & 2-5pm in Winter (April to October). Stock up on fresh fruit and veggies, eggs, bread, honey, jams and chilli sauces. Lots of tasty things to eat and buy.

Machteld Hali Exhibition

Machteld Hali's "Love on Camino" an exhibition of love fantasies. This exhibition, realised out of the famous Camino walk in Spain, is the incredible work of the very talented local artist and activist Machteld Hali. The Camino or El Camino de Santiago de Compostela in Spain, has been walked by pilgrims over the last 1200 years. This body of work "Love on Camino" explores love scenes along the Camino in the context of the convergences of different cultures, languages, nationalities and even flora in visual images with a strong narrative element. A set of 20 related, A3 sized sepia collagraph prints incorporating multilingual text and repeated patterns and tell the story of Machteld’s Camino, capturing precious moments such as a woman hanging out washing, lovers in a tumbling down loft, and a poem found on a post in a bar in the Alsa Bus Station. Love on Camino is on display from the 5th - 30th June 2019. Official Opening Thursday 6 June at 5.30pm. The Art Bar is open: Wednesday & Thursday 5-9pm; Friday & Saturday 12-3pm & 5-10pm; Sunday 12-6pm.

William Patino 'Sunset to Stars' Photography Workshop

This sunset and night photography workshop is one of William Pattino's signatures, and is the perfect opportunity to understand your camera and learn how to take beautiful landscape photos.  In a small group, beginning at Cathedral Rocks in Kiama, the fundamentals will be covered from the ground up - the basics of the exposure triangle, focussing, using a tripod, long exposures, hand-held shooting, manual-mode, understanding composition and more. This is a laid back learning environment out in the field where William is able to answer all your questions and also work with you one-on-one.  After going over the theory side of things photos will capture the sunset by the striking sea stacks at Cathedral Rocks and the magnificent and mysterious Bombo Quarry to learn about night photography and photographing the stars. Throughout the evening William will be sharing his own personal photography and processing techniques, addressing your individual goals and equipping you with the skills and motivation to get the most out of photography for the rest of your life!

Wild Bird Experience

Did you know that over 400 kinds of wild bird have been seen in the Illawarra? Join us for a short, illustrated presentation introducing our spectacular local bird life. Illawarra Birders will be passing on valuable knowledge and experience, culminating in a bird watching walk through Spring Creek Wetlands, a place known for it's varied and important bird life in the Kiama Municipality. Warning: bird watching can become addictive! To attend this workshop, please: bring a pair of binocularswear enclosed footweardress according to weather conditions (ie. cold weather gear, rain protection) Meet at Kiama Council Administration Building (11 Manning Street) for presentation. Then travel via own transport to Spring Creek Wetlands (Glenbrook Drive) for wild bird watching. *Bookings are essential and places are limited. To register your place at this workshop, you must be a resident of the Kiama Municipality.
