Green Caffeen

Kiama NSW

Green Caffeen is an Illawarra initiative founded by two local dads determined to stop 1 Million disposable coffee cups from entering Australian landfill. For a monthly subscription fee of $4.99 (the cost of a cup of coffee) we are offering regular takeaway coffee drinkers a Swap- and-Go Coffee Cup scheme that replaces the single-use disposable coffee cup with a clean ‘green’ reusable cup. The scheme provides re-useable coffee cups to participating cafes and coffee outlets, which are available for scheme members to use when they buy a coffee. They can take the cup away with them and return the dirty cup to another participating café when empty or keep the cup and hand it in when they buy another coffee. The scheme is managed via a phone app that tracks the cup returns.
